Wiltshire 24 hr ECG Primary Care Project

Wiltshire CCG 24 hr ECG Project

Wiltshire 24h ECG in primary care project wins ongoing funding from CCG and HealthWatch Wiltshire’s report on patient experience is positive.

We are delighted to report that the pilot project conducted in Wiltshire’s northern locality has now been reviewed by the CCG and they have decided on the basis of the outcomes to award it ongoing funding.

Some 18 practices, about 200,000 total patient population, used the C.Net5000 for a year and recorded how many patients were tested and how many Cardiology OP referrals were avoided.

At the same time HealthWatch Wiltshire were asked to investigate independently the patient experience of being tested in the surgery rather than in the hospital. The full report can be read on their website; by clicking here.

Cardionetics supplied the monitors on a service agreement that allowed the CCG to return the monitors at the end of the pilot for no penalty if they decided not to continue.

Cardionetics also supplied on site training for all levels of practice staff both at launch and as required during the project at no extra cost to the CCG.

Not surprisingly several other CCGs are also exploring setting up their own pilot projects to determine the benefit in their local health economies and Cardionetics is happy to work with them on the same low risk basis.
